Preparing for the Photo Session
What to wear
Simple is best. This will allow the photographs to focus on the baby. Avoid patterns, prints and logos. For younger babies, please try not to put on any tight socks or clothing with elastic since it leaves marks on the skin that take awhile to fade. Adults please bring at least two outfits, one black the other your choice. Long sleeve or 3-quarter sleeve are generally preferable.
Props?
Feel free to bring anything that your child is connected to or comfortable with, a favorite stuffed animal, blanket or toy. I have a variety to choose from to create a unique portrait. (This can be discussed in the pre-session consultation.)
Grooming
Nails should be trimmed and neat. Faces washed, eyes and ears cleaned. If possible lotion applied to dry areas. All these details can be crucial to minimizing retouching needs.
Mommies with newborns, this is a good excuse to treat yourself to a manicure, again simple is best.
Location of the Shoot
My studio is located in my home in Pleasanton. This allows me to provide professional lighting, backdrops and props without the overhead cost of a formal studio. My garden setting studio is currently in process of completion.
Newborn photo sessions are offered at your home for convenience. Minimum space of 10 X10 is required. Set up - fee $ 50.
The Session
My goal is to create images of your baby that capture their individuality in a comfortable setting. An expression you donā??t want to forget and those tiny details that change as they grow. All these elements will be discussed in the pre-session consultation. Feedings are common during a session and time is allowed for this.
